Why we're bringing Neuroscience to the NICU

This video explains why neuroscience belongs at the heart of neonatal care. By understanding how stress, connection, sensory experience and environment shape the developing brain, we can better support babies, parents and staff. Neuroscience doesn’t replace the incredible work already happening in NICUs — it strengthens it. This is why we’re bringing it into every neonatal unit.

Supporting NICU teams

NICU staff work in a high-stress, high-stakes environment. This video shows why protecting their nervous systems isn’t a “nice-to-have” — it’s fundamental to safer care, better outcomes and a healthier workforce.

Psychological Safety in the NICU

Psychological safety plays a vital role in the NICU, influencing how teams communicate, make decisions, and care for vulnerable babies and their families. In this video, you’ll get a clear introduction to what psychological safety means in a neonatal setting, why it matters so much in high-pressure environments, and what you’ll be learning about it throughout the course.

Regulating Your Nervous System on Shift in the NICU

This CPD-accredited training helps healthcare professionals understand and regulate their nervous system at work.

Combining lived experience, evidence-informed neuromodulation, and embodied learning, the course builds real-time awareness of stress responses and how to respond more effectively — even on shift.

Training is flexible and self-paced, with optional weekly live webinars, 12 months’ access to materials, and ongoing mentoring and support.

When Survival Takes Over in the NICU

Many NICU parents show up physically every day while feeling emotionally shut down inside.
In this video, I explain how the nervous system — particularly the dorsal vagal state — can create this disconnect as a form of psychological protection during extreme stress and grief.
Understanding this response helps both parents and professionals make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.
